I've always been fascinated by 3-dimensional art, not the statues of Victorian “celebrities” but more modern pieces of public art. For the last 20 odd years, I have photographed such pieces – but not just as pure records of the art. I've tried to either add some additional element, remove distractions or emphasise texture – not in any way detract from the original art, but in order to try to have others take more notice of or look at the original in a different way. Some of the prints in the exhibition are of local work – but there are also some from other parts of northern Britain (stretching as far south as Lincoln) and as far north as Falkirk).
